Default maybe ignition

I did that when the ignition went out in my 93 Ford Escort. The ignition was too expensive and the junk yard cars had all been stripped of them already so I put in a push button. Maybe a junk yard might have one with keys if you're lucky.

if its a tilt column you most likely have a bad ignition actuator, $11.00 part but a PITA to replace... its a cast aluminum piece that is deep in the column, my bronco has that issue, its a known problem but i just deal with the push button start, also if you removed the push button start the trigger wire needs to be changed at the solenoid...

if its a tilt column im 90% sure thats why they put the push button in.
