Default F150 engine.

I have a 2003 F150 with 5.4l engine. At 109km motor needs replaced. Ford dealer is charginf $6300.00 to replace. Any thoughs on this price being fair. Thanks for your feed back.

Yeah, $6300 is the pretty crazy price.
What is the direct problem with engine(reason of replacing) ?

Holy crap! I bought a complete 2003 SVT Lightning motor with 23k miles for 4250 shipped to my door.

That's just pure butt rapping.

It has a very loud tapping noise in the top half of the motor. I was thinking lifters or blown spark plug. Still runs fine other then the noise. The ford dealer is telling me there are several problems with it. Low compression, spun crake bearing, cam bearing, and no compression in one of the cylinders. But it still seams to runs fine to me. I always trusted this dealer, it's where I bought it from.
