EVAP VAlve
Hey guys looking for some expert help/opinion on my issue. I have a 2018 f150 5.0 Plat with 2000 miles on it. I have been reading on this forum about tsb 2058 that helps with the transmission. I have hard shift and hesitation i believe, also late response from pressing on gas pedal. I just received an error code but the issue has been going on since delivery of truck, at first i thought trans and computer just had to adjust to driving but its 2000 miles later. the dealer said my Evap Valve is stuck open according to that code, and that this will fix the problems i am having. I asked him to update the tsb to 2058 jsut to be sure and he said he could not, due to the error code showing Evap valve stuck in open position. DO you guys think this will fix my problem or should i hound him about updating to current tsb for transmission even though there is no code for that. It seems some on here are getting that update even without an error code, maybe i need to go to another ford service department. Also they gave me a rental an xlt and that rides perfect, great response on acceleration, going through the gears is smooth also no hesitation as far as i can tell, i told my ford service tech this and he said that replacement evap valve will have my truck driving like rental. Hope he not just wasting my time.

It's under warranty. Let the dealership fix it. Document everything, and if they don't fix it after a few tries, claim it as a lemon.
RUN, don't walk. Find yourself another dealer. He's making 'snap' decisions based on codes that do not have a damn thing to do with your transmission. Plus - there is NO code that tells you the Evap Valve is stuck open. He had to deduce that on his own from the code description. Plus - if his deduction is correct, it can be verified by 'clamping' the vacuum line to the Evap Valve 'closed' and go for a drive. See if it fixes the transmission.
