Default OIL FILTER: Gotta be kidden me RIGHT???

I've been reading about the spark plug issues, dreading the time.
BUT.....
I did the first oil change. I mean TRIED a oil change. Going back to stealership in AM.
That Oil Filter won't turn a lick. The only thing that reaches it is a filter cap attached to a rachet. The old oil filter bent and now it just slips.

ANYONE else had oil filter problems and a FIX?

What year do you have? I have an 05 and I am able to remove the filter with a filter wrench. The loop style. It is a bit of work but is possible. I work from the top of the truck, not from underneath.
