Engine missing when punching the gas
2014, V6 Ecoboost
Pulled out to pass a car today and punched the accelerator. Engine started missing badly and the check engine symbol started blinking. Backed off and drove at about 50 for a mile or so and it returned to normal then the symbol went away.
Is this going to likely be a fuel filter issue?

flashing CEL means a misfire severe enough it could damage the emissions systems (particularly the cats)
Did the 14s still have the shutter issue or was that resolved by then?
