I have. 2005 f150 5.4L with about 158,000 miles on it. Just recently it started loosing power. It seems to hesitate real bad while in a turn. I have changed the plugs. Any other suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks, Joe

2005 3v?

Read this: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/sd...229_r07m08.pdf

Any codes? Go get them pulled - a CEL may not be illuminated. Post any codes found on here.

Did you replace the boots and spring with the plug change? What plugs did you use?

What other maintenance was missed? Here's a list:

I did not replace the boots and springs, I will try that. The check engine light works and it's not coming on. I used the factory plugs, same ones that came out

So - you used SP515's?

As I said - no CEL does NOT necessarily mean no codes are pending or stored. You need an advanced scanner ( or Torque Pro and a BT dongle ) to pull those.

By all means go over any neglected maintenance, but don't start throwing parts at it without proper diagnosis - which starts with codes.

Clan the MAF, & TB ( in those links). Change fuel filter, inspect the FPDM - also in those links.

BTW - remember to torque the plugs to 25 ft-lbs DRY, and apply dielectric properly to the boots - like this: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/recomm...2/#post3272459

Hi.

If you have an Android phone or tablet:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...l.torque&hl=en

Recommended Bluetooth OBDII interfaces (a.k.a 'dongles'):

http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Bluetooth_Adapters

As fer scanners - higher-end Autel, or Snap-on. You want one that can display and capture live data, and access the Modes within the OBDII protocol:

Pick your year and pull up the docs here, under the OBDII Theory and Operation menu item on the left:
