I often drive with the heater in the panel position, today I shut the engine off and I could still hear it running. The fan speed dial also worked to increase speed. I'm having some battery trouble as well, I've had to jump it twice in the last day? any thoughts?

It sounds to me like you have a fried wire somewhere in the dash. JMO.
