Default Ecoboost engine cleaner?

Here I am at my local auto parts store and the guy that works there was asking me about my truck. So I told him what it was and that I loved the eco-boost.
He was trying very hard to push on me on a engine cleaner that he said was specifically for direct injection engines. It's called BG44K.
So I questioned him on how this could possibly clean the valves since no gasoline passes through the valves, everything is shot directly into the combustion chamber itself.
He said the main thing it cleans is the deposits that form on top of the piston head and other little things and side of the combustion chamber

Is this guy full of **** or is there any truth to some of this?
I would hate to waste I don't know 10 or $15 on this little additive if it's not going to work

From what I have read the only way to truly clean a eco-boost engine is to basically take it apart and use a lot of elbow grease to clean the valves and my right or wrong

Techron is your best bet, IMO. I've seen the results of using this stuff. Combustion chambers & pistons with minimal carbon build up in a air cooled bike engine that I worked on.
