Default Ecoboost brake problem

I had a strange issue.....when bracking out of the garage first thing in am I noticed that I had very little braking.....almost like you were trying to stop with just the emergency brake..... like a gliding stop. The problem almost immediately would go away when I shifted to drive and continued on my way. Ford replicated the problem (thank god) and it turned out to be a faulty vacuum pump. We'll see tomorrow morning when I pull out. I can tell you this...it tok them 2 days to figure this out with Ford engineers......hmmmmm.

Default F150 Brake Problem!

Your brakes have nothing to do with the Ecoboost.

Well it sounds like you might have had an intermittent problem. So it takes alot longer to find problems like that. Glad that they found the problem. This is a very common thing on boosted applications though. Electric vacuum pumps to run things because you do not make vacuum under boost of course.

I have exactly the same problem. It appeared on May 14th. Now it's June 17th and the car is still with the dealership. Meanwhile they replaced 3 parts which did not fix the problem. Now they want to replace the vacuum pump...
Att. acadianbob: I would have thought so... but now the dealership claims, that it has to do with the Ecoboost. Took them over a month to figure that out... I am not impressed...
