Wondering whats the easiest way to go about removing the clutch fan..tips and what tools would be appreciated. I have the motor out of the truck..doing a motor swap at the moment 04 f150 4.2 L

The clutch is usually a left handed thread and requires a large wrench that is made to fit the clutch between the fan blade and the body. Most auto stores rent/lend the tool. It's easiest to remove it while it's on the on the motor. A quick slap on the wrench with a dead soft blow hammer works well to break it loose. Good luck

My 97 4.6 clutch fan was standard lefty loosey, righty tighty, an 04 may be different of course.
