Default E85 Conversion?

I installed "change2e85" kit in my 2010 4x4 screw 4.6 Truck runs like a champ but for sure mileage went down. $3.85 for reg here-$2.99 for e85
hiway went from 18 to 13.5 hand calculated-so looks like the kit comes out as it cost more to run e85 even with $.85 difference.
so just for the heck of it, i disconnected the kit to see how the truck runs without it on e85- i can't tell the difference-no-one at Ford can tell me "why" i can't run it. Any thoughts or experiences with this?

Default Compatibility Issues:

Ethanol imposes compatibility issues in the fuel system. Unless the vehicle was specifically designed to run ethanol-loaded fuel you may be in some trouble over the long haul. Ford technical people should know the differences between your vehicle and the E85 models and be able to tell you where you might be in trouble.

Ethanol has about 60% of heat content compared to gasoline, so everything being equal your mileage experience with E85 is about right.

On a related note: Ethanol production as a motor fuel (mandated by government) is economically unsound and exists only because of heavy tax subsidies. So you pay more at the pump because of lousy fuel mileage and you get to pay more taxes as well.....what a sweet deal.

Additionally, the energy required to produce a given amount of ethanol is 29% more than that amount of ethanol produces, and the production energy comes largely from fossil-fuel sources.

Ethanol as a motor fuel, in the USA at least, is yet another government-mandated boondoggle built upon bogus science, horrendously expensive and inefficient and loaded with rotten politics.

what kind of kit is this? I was under the impression you needed stainless fuel lines and stainless lined tank to run it or you have serious issues in long term usage.

Also doesn't it have to have a specific type of fuel injector because ethanol works the engine harder due to its thermal signature? that's why they say the ecoboost cant run E85 at all.

You sure this kit isn't a scam?

kit plugs into injector between factory fittings -s'posed to have an alcohol sensor to modify the length of time the injector spews fluid. "change2e85.com"
