Default Dumb noob question

Hi everyone. I have a 2010 f150 XL, it's technically my first truck. I got a late start in life working on cars, and there's a lot that I don't know, so forgive my ignorance.

I had been having really bad noises coming from my front driver's side wheel. I assumed it was the brakes as I don't know how old the ones that were there were when I bought it. I took the wheel off, and lo and behold, it had thrown the pad and it was jammed up in the works. So I removed the offending pad, and bought new pads. While I reinstalling the caliper, I noticed that the cylinders in the caliper were totally effed, so I ordered new calipers and rotors as well. I was in the process of removing the old caliper when I noticed this delightful scene.

Can anyone please help me to identify this part and what I will need to replace? I'm willing to bet this is the true culprit to all of my problems, but I don't know enough about these trucks and these wheel assemblies to know what I have to fix. Any ID would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you!

At the very least your wheel bearing is toast. It may have also taken out your hub but it's difficult to tell from that pic. In looking at replacement parts it looks like the bearing and hub may come as a complete unit...

The destroyed part in your photo is the IWE (Integrated Wheel End) used on 4x4 vehicles. Looks like a heat failure that may have been caused by a failed wheel bearing or the teeth of the IWE not engaging and dragging causing excessive heat. IWE is vacuum operated and is used to engage and disengage 4-wheel drive. At the very least your need a new IWE.

Provide feedback as this repair progresses, including costs.
