Driver's Rear Stop Lamp/Turn signal light
Good Morning,
I know this topic has been discussed on this forum before but I can't find a thread that completely matches what I am experiencing. I'm hoping you all have suggestions on the actual issue.
2016 F150 Lariat 4 Door
- Driver's side rear stop lamp and turn signal will stop working. The front turn signal still functions when this occurs.
- I can "fix" the issue if I unplug the taillight and reinstall it. Sometimes this "fix" will last a month, sometimes it won't last a mile, before it happens again.
- There are times where I am driving, the turn signal will be working fine, and then it will stop working and will not work until I unplug/plug it back in.
- There are times where I am driving, the turn signal will be working fine, and then it will stop working and will start working again without my intervention.
- There are times where the lamp will stop working and if I turn the truck off, and turn it back on after a period of time (after watching the kids' soccer game or going into a store) it will be working again.
- There are times where the lamp will not be working when I start my truck but will start working while I am traveling to my destination.
- I'm not experiencing any other issues that I am aware of and the passenger's side is working fine.
- I scanned the truck with a BlueDriver scanner and got two codes
- B1444-15 - Door Handle Switch Circuit Short to Battery: Circuit Short to Battery or Open
- I have found references to this code but nothing that tells me what the actual problem or repair is.
- B1265-01 - Cold Air Bypass Divert Door driver circuit failure: General Electric Failure
- I have found references to this code but nothing that tells me what the actual problem or repair is. Is it possible that "Cold Air Bypass Divert Door driver circuit failure" is describing the location of the malfunctioning part?
I'm obviously not a mechanic and not versed in how to read the code descriptions so any insights as to what the problem may be (relay, bcm problem, tail light problem) or how to proceed would be appreciated.
