Double turbo failure 😣
So I have a 3.5 eco boost a 2015 with 105000km on it (about 65 thousand miles) and I have had both my turbos fail at pretty much the same time , the bearings are gone out of them, so as they have both failed at the same time it seems that something must have happened to cause this , I run it on synthetic oil and normally change the oil out when I get to about 25% oil life remaining.
from talking to the mechanic at the shop he has said they found a little bit of sludge stuck to the screen in the turbo but nothing too concerning and not enough to starve the turbos of oil, both turbos have separate oil supply’s coming from the cylinder head on each side of the engine, other wise the engine ran fine no missing no rattling no knocks, doesn’t have check engine lights , the only codes the engine had were low boost and low voltage codes caused buy a faulty batter that was changed, the oil level has never been low. They took off the oil drain on the turbos and they are getting oil , the engine has good oil pressure, so I am at a loss at to why would both turbos fail at the same time.
anyone have any thoughts on what might have caused this to happen,
Also the engine is in a Ford Explorer sport but same engine as the f150
