Hi I have a 2007 ford xlt 4x4 crew cab, I just purchsed this truck within the last 2 months, since getting it I have noticed every time on a rough road I am getting some knocking noises from the 2 front doors, I tried to adjust the striker, but there is no adjustment there. and the doors dont seem to be closing properly, because I can push in on them and they line right up , but when i release them , then i get the knocking noise, Where i purchased the vehicle swear it hasnt been in a crash so, I am looking for some advice on how to tighten the doors in, thanks in advance

 

Your rubber bumpers on your door need replacing.....I have a 2007 F150 crew Lariat that had the same problem.....I just bought mine also.....Replaced the rubber bumpers on the door and fixed the problem. Little round bumpers on the door that seat on the door jam right above the striker bracket. Those bumpers get worn and dont keep the resistance against striker.....thats what is rattling when you hit a bump. There are some threads on the forum about it.....That is where i got the part # for the bumpers from Ford.....They are a new thicker bumper......

 

A quick thanks to all the contributors. I just purchased a nice 2007 F-150 to keep at my lake house. Because of the high miles, I assumed the horrendous loose feeling and rattling were worn-out shocks. I went ahead and replaced them and to my dismay, the rattles were still there! I planned to take it to the dealer to check for loose muffler mounts or body bolts. I googled and found this site and the thread about the door bumpers. After $8.00 and overnight delivery from Amazon, I am proud to say my truck feels as good and tight as my new King Ranch!!! WOW, what a difference 4 little rubber bumpers made.
