Default Doesnt crank 90% of the time?

Hey all. I have a 2008 and I would like some input. I turn the ignition and I get good battery power (radio and electronics all turn on) but the engine does not fire. I turn the ignition off and on a bunch and it eventually fires up for now. There is no clicking like a bad started, or anything of that start that would lead me elsewhere. When it does fire up it flashes " check gauges" on the dash but everything looks normal and drives fine. I am trying to figure out if this is possibly my ignition switch or what else I can check before digging into it something when there may be an easy solution. I appreciate all the help.

Maybe a code was set. I would start there.

I'd say it's probably a good idea to look into that ignition switch like you were thinking. Also, give the starter relay and connections a once-over to make sure everything's snug.

The whole "check gauges" thing might be connected, but if everything seems fine and the car runs smoothly afterward, it could just be a quirky sensor or a random hiccup. Any specific patterns or conditions you've noticed when this happens?

Just to cover the basics, maybe take another peek at the spark plugs and make sure the fuel delivery is all good too.

All I have noticed is it continually got worse until I couldn't even get it to start this morning. I still will do some other checks before digging into the steering column for that ignition switch.
