I drained my diff fluid today(97' 2wd), when i put the cover back on (with rtv and a gasket) and after torquing down the cover i noticed the the gasket had split in 3 places. Should i take it off and go get a new one or should i fill er up?

ford does noy offer gaskets for diff. just use a small amount of rtv.
