IDK if later generation of that engine might have had. One of the problems is where the manifold mounts to the Head is only one bolt so the vibration from the turbo causes vibration that can break off bolts.
Your 2012 should have had 11 holes drilled and tapped for studs in the head. This should be true for all 2011-2016 3.5's.

The heads use the same stud holes as a 3.7L Cyclone which is also probably why the design sucked in the first place. In fact, some people with 3.7L Mustangs have used the F150 Ecoboost manifolds to turbo them because the manifolds bolt right up. They can easily install any factory fitment Ecoboost turbo right onto the 3.7L.

Thanks for the info!

Any recommendation on product choice for the manifolds? OEM perhaps? But ensure it has the additional bolt?

Thanks in advance!

The new OEM manifolds are BL3Z-9430-D and BL3Z-9431-D. I just bought some myself:

I think these could be the best option, although the BD Diesel manifolds may also work well. Jury is still out.

Thank you!
This and some deavers are in the near future, but I’m trying to see if I should replace turbos as well being that they’ll be in there already, and possibly down pipes.

You ordered your OEM from online site?

I use https://www.fordgenuineautoparts.com/

Their prices are decent, and once you factor in shipping, they are usually the same price or cheaper for me than anyone else because they are in Nevada and I am in Utah. I usually get stuff from them in 2-3 days of ordering.

Honestly, the turbos are easy enough to remove so I am not sure that I would replace them unless you think there is a problem. I would check for play in the shaft when you have everything apart, but mine are still solid at 100k miles even though I have absolutely abused them towing around the Rockies.

Default Random Rough Idle

Any ideas of cause? Could it be attached to needing new manifold gaskets?
At slight acceleration what I’m feeling is like when you go over those side rumble strips and pulling right back onto the street. It’s for a slight second and it’s a slight acceleration. It won’t happen when I’m parked. It started about a week ago but only happened once or twice but now happening constantly. I was thinking maybe MAP sensors as well?
Thanks in advance!

That kind of coin would get me to install a hoist in my garage and pick the cab up and out of my way to do it at home.

Cause is heat and usually snapping off one or more if the rear most studs.
