2010 F150 XL 4.7L V8. 130k miles. About 4 weeks ago I'm driving when the oil light flashed on then went off and the alarm chime sounded for just a few seconds. No oil leaks. Oil level was good. A few days later the engine started missing and engine light came on. Engine misfire code. So I changed all the plugs and coil packs. Cleared the codes and truck has been running great until today when oil light flashed again and chime sounded. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Oil pressure gauge had no change. It showed about three-quarters of the way to the high level. Even when I rev the engine it stays pretty consistent.

 

These gauges are actually not gauges, they work the same as a light does. They show the same until pressure drops under 6 or 7 lbs.

 

i agree. my '99 was like that and so is the '00 i keep on the farm. they are not very accurate unless there is a big drop in oil pressure
