If a pcm change is required, that's going to be a dealer item, they will need the whole truck, they can't flash the pcm before hand as they also have to perform a handshake to all the other modules like the cluster, the Pats module (your chipped keys) etc...

Ford's connectors are notorious for these types of malfunctions.
