I have a 99 150 that is sputtering with a ce light on so I went to the parts store to read it hooked it up and it said please wait reading for over a half hour I know it normally take about ten seconds to read anybody have an idea about whats wrong

 

Did you try it several times and each time it just kept saying waiting?

Might seem dumb but make you have it plugged in firmly. I had a issue with my Xcal 3 programmer once and turns out I just didn't have it plugged in right. lol

 

Disconnect the battery for about 1/2 hour and re-connect CEL should be gone ...then if it sets another code try to read again.

 

Thanks guys yeah i tried it a few times same thing over an over going to try the battery deal this evening hopefully thats the trick
