Default CD player not working

Hello everyone,

I have an 05' F150 that I had to have some body work done to it because Hurricane Ike pushed a tree on it. Well, I got it back and it looks like my pickup never even met a tree. The thing is that now my cd player will not work. (radio works fine, but won't take cd's)

I have one of those factory radios with the 6 disk changers that plays mp3s. A day before the wrecker truck came for my pick-up, I took everything I had out of it, including the cd's in the radio. As a matter of fact, I was listening to a few of the cd's while I was cleaning the pick-up(I was sick and tired of hearing about Ike, thats all they were talking about on the radio).

It has now been a few weeks since I got my pick-up back from the body shop, and yesterday I tried putting the cd's that I took out back in, and it would not take them. The radio just said "CD ERROR"

Does anyone have any Idea what could be wrong with it? Or if the radio is covered by the warranty?

Exclamation Just an idea

Hi.. good to hear that your Truck is back on the track

Maybe there is some dirt from the paintshop in the cdtray. I had the same problem after airbrushing my dashboard. When there are some dirtparticles on the laserlens the player won't find the CD and shows an error...

Maybe you try to use a cleaning cd...

I hope this helps you !!!

Peace from overseas...

try washing your CD's in hand dishwashing soap rinse them well, dry them and see if that doesn't do the trick.

Sound like it is time for a new one. If you get a new head unit you can get one that you can plug various flash drives, and MP3 players into and forget CD's. I have a 2 gig thumb drive on my Pioneer and I have used the CD player just once, to make sure it worked.
