Default Cam position sensor question

I put the timing gears all together correctly and never removed the cam position sensor from the cover or loosened the bolt. Since I put it on with every thing at top dead center, do I still need to remove the shaft and reset the sensor at 26 degrees after tdc? Or will it be correct since it was before I removed it.

Here is my rebuild so far

I wouldn't take any chances as that sensor is responsible for timing the sequential fuel injection.
