New to this forum and new to F-150's
Have a 99 F-150 4X4 with a 5.4
The A/C isn't blowing cold air but the high pressure lines are hot, the low pressure lines are cold, it's producing enough condensation run off to float a boat. I checked the system is charged and under pressure. Has anyone had a problem with the blend door or climate control system? Trying to figure out where to go to next. thanks for any help.

 

One of the blend doors is stuck or the motor that runs it is bad. Possible bad control head. Sounds like the compressor is working fine.

 

so i'm going to have to get into the box where the blend door is which means the dash is coming out?

 

Is it just the A/C that doesn't work? The heat works? Does it blow on ANY setting at all? It might be your blower motor resistor pack. I just had to replace mine on a 99. Take yours out and see if it looks bad. It is under the dash on the passenger side. Unplug wires and take out 2 bolts, it pops right off. Mine was corroded to all hell.

If it's producing the condensation you say it is, then the A/C is working.

If the compressor is cycling on and off with the fan on Hi, and it's a relatively warm day - that may suggest low freon. The A/C works, but not as well as it should - the air should still be cool. The compressor WILL cycle normally on cooler days and lower fan speeds as its capacity exceeds the cooling demand.

If the air coming out is warm, that suggests that the heater door is not shut tight - essentially the air just cooled is being reheated, such as one would want for Defrost mode. I agree with user NGM - start checking climate control diverter doors, actuators, or the control unit.
