My A/C has been working intermittently for a while now. I would turn the A/C on and leave it on and about 15 minutes it will come on and work great. Then when I turn the truck off it takes a while before the A/C will kick back on.

I was thinking the refrigerant was low so I went out and bought a can with the gouge on it. I put it on and the low side was reading about 150 PSI. The compressor would kick on and off a few times and the pressure would drop to about 80 and when the compressor kicks off the pressure would go back to about 150.


any clue what could be the issue, my mechanic wants about $75 to put the tuck on the a/c high and low side guages to see what is going on.
