Default A/C intermittent, need help

I have an 04 XLT with the 4.6. My A/C has been intermittent since spring. I have cleared/checked the fuses, relays and diode. I found that if I unplug the 2 electrical connectors to my compressor/clutch, and then plug them back in after a few minutes, the A/C clutch starts engaging and the air is ice cold, but stops engaging after a few minutes. Any thoughts? My pressure on the low side is around 23 psi when clutch is not engaged, and 37 when clutch is engaged, in 85-90 degree temps.

If you want to enjoy your A/C, take it to a pro and have a proper diag. done.

Thanks for the help bro. I have rebuilt rotary and piston engines, turbochargers. I'm not an A/C expert, but it is perfectly within the range of my abilities to fix this, I just do not want to throw money at parts. You know?
