Brake wearing quick
Hello guys. I installed new pads about a month or so ago, on the driver side. They are now grinding a little again. I'm confuses on what could make them wear so quickly. Can someone tell me what I should and also how can I take the rotors off to resurface them as they are too hard to take off. What should I use to separate them from tye hub? Thanks.
Sorry. Its a 2010 4x4 Platinum. I saw a related post and think im going to grease my glide pins to start. But tell me this. How can I get my rotors off to turn them? What can help me unseize them from the hub?
I am pretty sure that there's a Makuloco video on that also. Just watch some Makuloco videos. He covers a lot of problem areas.
Here's a good one. It's an Explorer though, and rears. A 3 lb sledge is involved.

It doesn't take a maul. A 16-24oz hammer is plenty. Ford recommends striking between the lugs, in an alternating pattern, similar to the one used for tightening the lug nuts. You're not trying to drive the rotor like a nail - you're trying to make it vibrate and wobble until it's loose.
It can take several whacks. I've spent nearly a minute working on one rotor before. Put some penetrating oil on each lug stud, and around the hub stickout. Keep them wet while you hammer the rotor.
