Default Brake question

Hi guys! Just bought an 08 fx4 supercrew yesterday. After driving it around yesterday and today, I've noticed the brakes suck. At first I thought it was just because I'm not used to such a heavy vehicle. But after a bit more driving I'm concerned there is something wrong. Under normal driving the brakes are fine. But in heavy braking such as a hard stop, the brakes just don't stop the truck. When I mash down the pedal stays firm but it is not getting it slowed down very quick. All the pads look brand new. I stopped and bought some high quality ceramic pads on the way home from work and I'm about to change them. I'm hoping that the dealer just put cheap pass on and they have glazed or something. If that doesn't fix it what else should I be looking for? Like I said, normal driving and stopping is fine, just heavy braking is where the problem is. Thanks in advance for the help!

Just got front driver side pads off and they look brand new. They are very smooth to the touch though. Does that mean they are glazed and inneffective?

So these pins were in the passenger side but there were none on the driver side caliper. Is that normal? Could that be the problem? Need some help here guys.
