Default brake lights

I have a 1998 F150 that I use mainly for hunting and working around the farm. I have just recently noticed that I have no brake lights although my park lights are working fine. So far I have checked fuses, replaced the brake switch on the pedal and replaced the bulbs. I have also inspected the wires leading to the tail lights and they too seem to be fine. I'm at my wits end, any suggestions?

I was going to say brake light switch but you replaced that. Are the rear turn signals working?

Yes turn signals and park lights both. That's why it's been so hard for me to understand

Have you tried a turn signal switch? Most people don't think of that but the turn signal switch has to disconnect the power from the brake light switch in order for the light to flash.

Well an update on my brake light issue. I have taken the bed off and traced all the wires. I have no shorts or cut wires, however I did find that the factory harness had been spliced into. I redid all of the wires as they should be but now when I turn on the signals it turns all of the lights on. It seems that it is back feeding through the signals. I'm totally lost on this issue and any help would be greatly appreciated
