Default Brake Light Problem

I was doing some searches on the site but wasn't able to find my problem. I havea 2007 XLT Supercab, My problem is that sometimes the brake lights will ignite and sometimes they don't. I have to push the pedal all the way to the ground. The problem is all 3, its not just one or 2 that don't ignite but all of them. Tonight they were light up while still holding the brake light down they went off and came back on. Any thoughts?

Check the wires at the brake pedal switch, pull on them and the one that stretches is the one that needs to be repaired.

Assuming you don't have a bad connection at the fuse panel.

Is that something a weekend warrior can accomplish?

Google search the brake light switch so you know what you're looking for and it should be a simple task to replace it. You'll be on your back, squeezed between the seat and the dash but you'll find it at the top of the brake pedal.
