Default Box under dash

I have a 2000 f150 4x4 with the 5.4, there's a box under the drivers side dash that has the fuses and relays and it has a bunch electronic stuff including something that controls the 4x4 does anyone know what this is called I think I need a new one

That would be the GEM module. Also check and see if you have a water leak on that side.

Leaks under the dash on both corners is common on our trucks especially if your truck has spent most of its life in a 4 season area. The panel youre speaking about is the secondary fuse panel and is connected directly through the firewall with a large screw/bolt. Replacement is a major job and should be done by a qualified auto electric shop. It also requires a complete under the dash wire harness unless you are good at splicing wires. Spray it with contact cleaner and replace ALL the fuses and relays first to see if it resolves your issues.

This box has four bolts and some huge plugs for the harness I've already had it out once
