That's over 8 years (over 5 prorated), in case you can't make it out.

And if you pay them for installation, testing & installation at any Ford dealership are also covered by the warranty.

MC, DH, & Interstate batteries are also made by JC. But they have higher specs than WM, O'Reilly, the zone, Optima, Napa, SureStart, or any other branded JC batteries.

Just an FYI Johnson controls has sold their battery division. Not sure if the factories will remain open under new owners or be moved off shore so they don't need to worry about regulations concerning lead pollution etc.

What part of "my Walmart battery is still kicking after 5 years" did you NOT understand?

You forget I am, have been and always will be an automotive mech/tech. I've got almost 40 years under my belt in this field so there is NOTHING you can say that will enlighten me to the intricate workings. Just having you post this is an insult to my entire life's work.

Had a locksmith and safe business for 19 yrs.
Was in the trade 42 yrs
And did access control.

My best 2 buddies we're mechanics .
Another one of my friends sold I think it was Gould batteries for a living .
He also rebuilt batteries in the 60's

I fished with one about every weekend.
Stayed in his shop.
I used to build cars in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Worked with my uncle as a mechanic who ran limited sportsmen races at the fair grounds in B'ham, Ala at BIR.

I used to drag race at Lassiter mountain raceway park when I was younger.

I got the Big "C" a yr and half ago.
Lost a lot if my short term and long term memory

So don't throw that BS about about showing you respect..

I build my Harley Davidson sitting downstairs.

I did the locksmith work for interstate batteries in Houston.
Bought direct from them.
I know about batteries.
And companies get bought out and the quality changes.

I simply come on here asking a question for help.
I have forgot stuff.
Short term and long term memory is gone.

Don't need anybody busting my chops about what they have done
Not trying to impress anybody with nothing
Guess your the Big Dog on the block.

Never had any friend to act like you are acting.

Don't need your help.
Go crawl back under your Rock.
You don't deserve respect.

Surprised Ford hasn't come on here and pm you for how you are acting.
You are not the only person in the world who has turned a wrench.

You're not going to get far, flexing your inflated ego. If you have so many credentials, I am surprised you had to post such questions and couldn't figure it out.

FYI, not only does Ford have zero to do with this site, but they have no presence here.

No, I don't think anyone will ever forget what you are; try as we may.

If a 3-line post (only ONE of which was directed at you) of simple facts on the interwebz is THAT big a deal to you, your life's work must NOT be.

LIGHTEN UP, FRANCIS.

You suggested that the WM warranty was the best. I posted evidence that's it not even close. If your ego can't handle that, I don't really care.

Show me where I said Walmarts battery warranty is the best. I only stated what it is. Perhaps reading comprehension is an issue for you, that I'll forgive.

Default Battery Voltage...!

I haven't been doing a lot of work on my vehicles.

On a 2014 Truck.
Do you need to use the OBD took and keep voltage to remove and replace the battery.

Had to have the truck towed to the dealer and have the battery replaced under warranty when it was like a yr old.
Battery acid had leaked out of the battery and all over the truck
The person that changed the battery didn't put the long bolt back in that holds the battery down.
When the OL came home. The bolt was sticking up between the gap in the hood and finderwell.
I opened the hood myself and put the bolt back in.
Too bad the mechanic didn't do the job right.

The battery has a very large amount of acid on the cable connections.
Since I live in the country. I am just going to replace the battery with one from Orielly's.

Want to make sure if I need to keep power on the radio and the computer so it don't loose codes.

The tool they have plugs into the OBD connection on my truck. And had a cigarette lighter plug on the other end.
Problem is the cord is only about 2' long.
No way will it reach to another vehicle to plug it in.
And there is nowhere around here to buy a connection that is about 12' long.

Thanks for the replies.
Good Morning Cardboards,
I experienced a similar issue with my 2012 F150 after I replaced the factory plugs (truck has 91k miles). The issue you are referring to has to do with something Ford calls: “ Adaptive Memory,” which is stored in your vehicles PCM ( Power Control Module), which is the vehicles’ main computer. No OBD scanner retains voltage as they themselves are built to use the vehicle’s voltage / current supply to operate. So what I would recommend is change your battery and when you turn your engine on ensure that everything is turned off. No radio, no lights, no heater. After the engine reaches normal operating temperature allow the engine to idle for an additional minute, then turn the AC on (low setting) allow this to run for a minute. Then, with your foot on the brake pedal put the transmission in drive ( and the AC still on) allow the car to idle for an additional five minutes and then set transmission in park.

This is will help your pcm set the initial start parameters for its adaptive memory cycle. You may have to drive the vehicle anywhere between 5 to 10 miles to help the computer learn its new parameters but this should take care of its issues.
