Default Battery problem

2004 5.4, 95k miles.
No problems with truck.
Original battery was finally loosing some CCAs.
Replaced with a new Costco battery last week.
Everything fine.
Last night driving home, radio stopped working, engine lights come on, other symptoms which I don't remember because I was flustered.

I was almost home when it happened. When I pulled into my driveway. I turned off the truck and restarted it. Ignition would just click-click like I had a dead battery.

This morning the truck starts just fine. Put a charger on the battery at 12amp rate and meter shows the battery as discharged.

Logic seems to point to a bad brand new battery or is something else going on that I don't understand?

Thanks, Jess
