Battery light intermittent?
Greetings,
I've searched the maintenance section and haven't come across anyone else with this problem. My battery light was coming on when I stepped on the gas (i.e. merging onto a freeway) and the engine jumped to a higher RPM. Usually around 3000. The battery light went out when the engine dropped back down to 2000 RPMs. This went on for months and the truck ran fine. The alternator tested fine in my garage at idle RPM. This past week the battery light came on after accelerating and didn't go out. Is this an alternator going bad? Thanks for any help.
2000 F-150 4.6L V8 with 92,000 miles
