Default AOD neutral switch problem

Could really use some advice from an in the weeds AOD guy. 93 F150, XLT ,5.0 ,4WD, AOD transmission. Sons truck. All of a sudden, no start. Worked it back to the NSS. 12V in at plug, jumped the 3&4, started right up plus the sensor was stuck all the way depressed. Replaced NSS, backup lights work, no start. Nothing. What did I miss? Also only get 3.2V at ignition wire on solenoid when keyed to start.

Being an old truck, I would verifiy you have a decent battery in place then go over and clean up the electrical connections feeding the starter solenoid and your ground connections. I believe you fixed your issue at the NSS. and dealing with a high resistance connection somewhere.

Are you sure it's an AOD? Read this caption & put all the truck's details into your signature:

The starting circuit is shown in the far Right pane of this diagram:

But as raski said - everything electrical on the truck depends on good connections to the battery.

Any ideas where I can find a technical drawing of the 5 pin NSS? I'd like to depress the switch by hand and see what each stage of the switch does. I wonder if there's some issue with the gear shift in the shifter well. It's making for reverse lights but nothing for P/N. As I said before , the 3&4 connections on the pigtail can be jumped and it starts right up. Connect the plug to the NSS, no start. Something in the tranny isn't making the switch close. Only thing I can come up with.

Default Still on it

Found a little nugget from my son regarding this. Starts by jumping solenoid. Starts by jumping #3&4 on NSS plug, BUT then it starts in the run position. Don't even get to the start position at the key. Won't start at all with new NSS plugged in. Now I think we've been looking in the wrong area. Ugh.

Your descriptions are too vague & ambiguous. Either describe what you're doing more-thoroughly, or post pics showing exactly what's happening at each point. We need to know the position of the key, the NSS, the shifter, and the jumper for EACH of your tests.
