Anyone running a electric wator pump???

Default Anyone running a electric wator pump???

I was think about putting one on my 302 and was wondering what the pros and cons were??

Why? The pumps that Ford put in millions of 302's seem to work pretty good. 302's need alot of things mostly hp and torque but you came up with a electric water pump really?

Pros- reduces a minor (very minor) parasitic HP/TQ loss from the crank running the pump.

Cons- if the fuse blows or something goes wrong with the electrical system your motor is toast.

I'd think the Cons have it.

If you're racing, the HP/TQ lost from the water pump is important, however, you're driving a truck, not a race truck.
