2016 F150 XLT with 3.5 Eco at 2900 miles. Got service engine light on yesterday. Took to O'Reilly and got P0113 Air intake temperature high input. Opened hood to find a completely severed (missing) cable between the sensor and the next connection point closer to the intake filter. Also found some remnants of electrical tape where the connections were. It *almost* looks like someone cut it with wire cutters but just not quite clean enough cut (some frays still). What would cause this? I mean, it was clean missing. Been running fine with no codes until yesterday and I haven't done anything on this truck to this point. Poor connection? Sensor causing too high of an amperage and melting connection? I'm kinda dumbfounded and looking for thoughts. Thanks!

Reason: Spelling
Thought there may be more at hand so I just looked around a little more and noticed some of the foam insulation under the engine cover was breaking apart and dropping down. Took off the cover and found what's in the picture below. I do believe I have mice in my garage.
