Default Air Filter

So its time to replace this K&N Air Filter or at least thats what the guy i bought the truck from told me it was. I thought all K&N' big red. I cant find a K&N replacement with the felt on the rim. The K&N I found has the plastic rim, no felt. The only one with the felt is Air Raid, $65 bucks. How important is the felt?would i be fine with the one without the felt? What do yall have? My intake has a Saleen warning that says the replacement filter should have felt on the rim.

I am puzzled here. My K&N filter has that it is good up to 1 million miles (with periodic cleaning).
There are instructions in PDF to show how to clean them.
The one on my truck is the KN part #33-2385, rubber?(flexible), not felt.
But, my truck has stock air intake.

If felt is needed, I have been known to use my southern ingenuity skills to apply felt materiel around the edges and apply to the housing, snugging up for a good seal.

Look for a part # on the filter, should be printed/molded on it somewhere, and google it. I thought all K&N's were "rechargeable" per their ads which meant cleaning them on a periodic basis.

Typically they do last forever and can just be cleaned but this one has several holes in it and is burned so i figured ill just replace it.
