Advancetrac system error
This issue actually applies to my wife's 2015 Ford Explorer limited, but I believe it's the same system that the F-150 uses. If this post is in the wrong place, I apologize in advance. A couple of weeks ago, a prompt came up that said service advancetrac system. Then pretty much every safety system light illuminated. I brought the vehicle to a local Ford dealership, and they stated that 2 different modules failed. One is control module with part # EB5Z-2C219-B and the other is Module with part # DB5Z-2C215-B. I bought both parts at a cost of about $800.00, and Ford wants another $800.00 to install. Here's where it gets interesting... As of yesterday, the system is no longer failing and no safety lights have come on. If the 2 modules actually failed as Ford stated, wouldn't it be abnormal for the system to all of sudden work again? I just hate to have these parts installed only to find out it was some other sensor etc. causing the issue. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
In my 2011 I get random massages every blue moon. A glitch in the software? Maybe. But everything continues to work properly after a restart. I’m not saying to completely ignore it, but… I’m sure the techs just hooked up a scanner and found trouble codes for those two parts and said they were bad. Wait and see if the issue happens again, then really look into it.
