abs problem

hi gang, i am also new to this board and find it great!
my problem is the abs is activating but the abs light is not on?
does this sound familiar to anyone? thanks...

02 lariat 5.4lt 4x4..

Just curious as to your symptoms or assumption of the ABS malfunction? I have an 02 also, twice in past 6 months on dry pavement my ABS actuated for seemingly no reason and no light activity.

it started off just the odd time a few weeks ago Bill, dry or wet pavement(snow)
but now it does it all the time just about 15 to 20ft from a full stop..

Terry, suggest using torkums site for the ABSfixer, has some good info there. Like the part about counting the segments of the ring. Goes along with ford not liking aftermarket stuff. Best info I get out of ford is to clean the rings from any magnetic metal contamination. Good luck.
