Just bought a 92 f150 5.0 4wd and fixing the issues. The transmission line was leaking when I bought it and was 4.5 qts low. From the start i immediately noticed it was shifting hard into second. I had hoped filling up the fluid would fix it, but no. From reading it seems that it is running in limp mode. The truck also upon start up with the engine cold it has a low idle and will shut off it you don't give it gas.

Was wondering if there are any apparent things I can check or maybe reset the computer to see if it goes away until limp mode starts back. Also noticed that the check engine light does not show up when ignition is first cut on. Maybe the previous owner took out the light. I am about to do the self check test and will have more info soon.
