4x4 not engaging
Hello everyone,
I have a 2016 F150 XLT with a 3.5 l. Recently I had difficulty engaging the four-wheel drive and so I scoured this forum in order to search some solutions. And I found a couple of things that I thought would help; I changed out the solenoid for the iwe and I changed the transfer case four-wheel drive motor.
The problem persists. I'm just looking for some guidance on how to continue troubleshooting this issue?
The symptoms are: on the four-wheel drive will not engage and after a couple of minutes I get the check 4x4 symbol on my dash light with the little wrench, and that dash light code does not appear on my OBD2 scanner.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Before throwing more parts at it, check for power to the parts you've replaced.
Do you hear any sounds when you switch to 4wd? Clicking, clanging, thumping.
There will not be an OBD2 code because it is not an OBD2 error, just a system error like ABS/Airbag.
