Default 4A Shift at high speeds

Hello all, I’m not super mechanically inclined when it comes to 4x4 mainly because this 2021 f150 is the first vehicle I’ve actually utilized it on and I’m trying to figure out if what occurred could’ve damaged my 4x4 in any way. My girlfriend was driving my truck and said she accidentally switched it to sport mode while going about 50 mph on the highway, sport mode auto engages 4A. I saw another post where a bunch of people were saying it’s ok to switch into 4A while driving at any speeds but they also mentioned you need to let off the gas until the “4 wheel drive engaging “ sign goes away and then you can hit the gas again. I was not in the truck and I doubt she let off the gas while she accidentally switched it, this is the only and only time this has occurred, typically I don’t switch around 4x4 unless I’m in neutral going 0 mph, any thoughts on if any damage could’ve occurred from the one event? Thanks in advance,

-Baily

Are you reading inclined? Read the owner's manual. Generally, if Ford programs a module to manage something automatically, it's programmed NOT to do it in a way that can cause damage.

I shift from 4A or 4x4 to 2wd on the fly all the time in sport mode. I haven’t had a problem in the 5 years I’ve owned it 2016 Lariat Screw.
