I have a 78 f150 with a 77 460 in it. My temp runs at 210 to 220 without a load. What is the best temp to run at and whats best thing to do to gix it

 

Should be running around 180-190, several factors could be causing the over temp, radiator only partially flowing, ignition timing, thermostat sticking or non existent, engine block filled with crud, water pump not circulating to capacity etc.......

Find a mechanic that knows what he/she is doing, those old school engines are simple to work on.
