Default 4.9l idleing rpm

I've got a 4.9l 1990 f150 that seems to be idleing kind of high. Whats the norm for these engines? Mine sits at just under 2k.

Default I had an 89 5.0

Same basic age. I had a TPS (throttle plate sensor) or something like that get out off whack. There is a test for it with an ohm meter. Just remove and hook up meter and operate and record readings.

The sensor sends a signal to ECM or PCM computer thing and it sets idle. I believe the sensor cost $25 in about 1995.

Its an easy test and doesn't cost any thing to test.
