Default 3.7l A/C

A couple months ago the A/C compressor in my 3.7 seized. Ford quoted me between $1,300 and $1,500. I found a kit at autozone for $405 that came with a lifetime warranty. But to keep the warranty, you have to replace o-rings, expansion valve and drier filter as well. Anyone worked on one of these A/C units? Im confident in replacing the compressor but beyond that, I am at a loss.

Depending on what caused the A/C compressor to seize, depends on the cost of repair. If the compressor seized, and sent metal through the system, the entire system will need to be flushed, lines, evap, condensor. And replace the compressor, dryer, and expansion valve. As far as Expansion valve replacement, that is pretty simple, it is on the evap, where the lines connect to, a small star bit screw, and it comes out.
