Motorcraft syn-blend is just fine. I would have also used a Motorcraft filter.

big fan of full synthetic. your motor will have less wear with full syn. DIY oil changes with full syn. cheaper than regular change at a dealer or shop.

Just know that synthetic blend is no better than regular conventional oil.
So go full synthetic, or just dump in the old stuff.

I was going by the fact that Ford trusts it enough to put it in about everything they build, and it has the Ford spec. on the bottle, so I don't think you can beat it, I don't care how much you spend as long as you follow the recommended change intervals.

The change intervals have been seen to be too long. Especially when it comes to the timing chain issues.
Check some of the threads on here relating to oil changes and the the frequency as well as oil types.
I also suggest not relying on the OLM...and the Ford manual does also recommend changing the oil more often or frequent when the engine has been placed under excessive load such as when towing.

I for one change my oil a lot more often than is recommended, as well as I use full synthetic.
Thats what I do, of course everyone can do as they please.

I went with a KN filter , and Mobil 1 full syn 5/20 wt . I also put on a tonne cover . I may do better on fuel with the cover and oil combo this truck was sent to a dealer and lifted , fuel blk wheels step bars ,flairs looks great I have been getting around 17.8 to 18.2 just running here and there . A bed cover made 1 mile diff on my other trucks per gallon . I have been Ford truck guy all my life F 250 mostly I want a new type F 150 lifted with wheels and stuff every time I found one over the week end and called Monday they were sold till I got home . A dealer got a mint 2014 Ram in med blue ,lifted ,black wheels Hemi I got 18 mpg in it had it for a about a year traded it right back same place for this 18 F 150 they gave me almost what I paid them . I bought Ford since 1977 you can take the boy out of the F series but not the F series out of the boy .my Ford is Magma Red.

Neither the oil nor tonneau cover will save fuel.
