I have a 2012 fx4. I have intermittent problems that start with the key fobs not working. When the truck is locked and you attempt to unlock, the truck does not respond. If you hit the unlock button on the key enough times, it will finally unlock. After this happens, when you start the truck, the radio, heater controls, and seat heaters do not work. The problem can be fixed by removing the battery cable or by letting the truck sit for a couple of hours. The last time it happened, the controls on the steering wheel did not work either. My truck has spent almost a month at the dealer ship and they have not been able to fix the issue. I am beyond irritated and would just like this fixed. Has anyone ever heard of this issue? I do have an alpine 928 aftermarket navigation system installed, but the problems did not start right after this was installed.

 

Contact the Ford Factory Rep on this forum for some help. They have a great track record of helping you get things fixed. On a side note , every time you disconnect the battery, you are resetting the computers in the truck. Doing this on a regular basis is not recommended and can possibly damage electrical systems on the truck.
