2011 F150 Rear wheel ABS sensor ring appears to be wearing
I recently changed the rear brakes (pads and rotors) on my ‘11 F150 XLT RWD 3.5 Ecoboost. While inspecting the e battle I noticed the ABS Wheel sensor tone ring appeared to have the plastic wearing down on one section of the ring. It was the same on both wheels. Is this normal? I do not have any warning lights or error codes at the moment. I assume if this is not normal I would need to pull the axles to replace. Anyone familiar with this issue? My truck has about 136k miles on it.

Don't know much about 2011's but tone rings are metal, generally. They have to generate a magnetic field. Also not clear why you'd have to pull axles since most tone rings are on the rotors. A picture might help.

This is an example of where the wheel tone ring is located.
This is the location of the tone ring. I cannot even begin to understand how the plastic spacer/covering could have worn. It appears there is even spacing between the tone ring and the speed sensor.

If its worn down, I'd plan on replacing them soon. That worn ring will start causing faulty abs signal. After 136K miles, I'd say its time.

I Googled this issue.
One article talked about rust getting under the tone ring causing to expand and come loose. Sounds unlikely both sides would do that.
Another article discussed objects rubbing against the tone rind and specifically mentioned e-brake spring that was installed improperly, possibly your issue.
