I'm hearing a knock taking tight right hand turn. I have inspected it an my cv joints are going bad but I have never done a cv axle replacement before and my plain was to remove and replace the upper and lower ball joints as well as the cv joints. For the cv axle removal, is their any seals that I need to replace also?. I am buying the parts from rock auto and figured I'd ask an buy any seals along with the the rest of the parts. Thanks for the help.

No seals with a CV axle. If you buy the whole assembly, it's not a hard job to do. You have to jack the truck up, remove wheel, take the lower strut bolt out and pry the strut out of the way. You dont have to do this, but unbolting the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle makes getting the CV axle out easier. There are bolts that hold the axle to the front diff, take those off. Will nee either a pry bar to hold the cv axle still or somebody in the truck holding the brake. Once those bolts are out, you can pull the axle down away from the diff, then pull the other end out of the hub and your done. Might have to wiggle it around to free the other end from the hub. Reverse the process for re install
